The Louisiana Association of Museums held its annual conference in Lafayette from September 11-13, 2016. The conference focused on museum practices and developments in the areas of education, administration, collections, preservation, marketing, fundraising, and membership. At the conference, members of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Department of History presented a panel on Museum on the Move, the department’s mobile exhibit. Dr. John Troutman, Kelsey Jagneaux, Linzey Foret, and Karen McKinney’s panel, titled Museum on the Move: Exhibiting Oil History in an Airstream, discussed the construction, content, and challenges of the latest exhibit, “’Drill, Baby Drill?’ Oil in Louisiana.” Follow us on the Museum on the Move's Facebook page, or on our Department Facebook page.
