Sarah I. Rodriguez, M.A.

Sarah I. Rodriguez is the Associate Director of the Guilbeau Center for Public History and the Public History program at UL Lafayette. She earned an M.A. in History, concentrating in Public History, from the University of West Georgia in 2022 with her thesis titled, "Private Lives, Public History: The Sex Trade in Natchez, Mississippi During the Civil Rights Era, 1950-1982." She earned a B.A. in History, minoring in Economics, from the College of William & Mary in 2018. Sarah specializes in oral history and was formerly the Lead Oral Historian for the Southern Foodways Alliance at the University of Mississippi. Sarah also has experience working in museums, historic sites, cultural non-profits, cultural resource management, archives, and tourism. Her research and project interests include public history, oral history, the American South, and gender/sexuality histories.
