Banned: Art and Science in Exile

Join us on Monday, November 13, at 12 pm on Zoom for the first event in the Guilbeau Center's new speaker series, Banned: Art and Science in Exile. The banning of knowledge and education by local, state, and federal governments is a global issue. This speaker series shines a spotlight on artists and scientists in exile, who have had to flee their home countries because of who they are and the truths that they refuse to silence.

Our first speaker is Dr. Dezso Mate, Academy in Exile Social Science Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities, Essen, Germany. His talk is titled "Academic Anti-Gypsyism from Grellmann's Gypsiologist Schools (1783) until 1920."

Register now: Banned: Art and Science in Exile

Registration closes at 10:59 am, November 13.
