GeoTours
The geographer’s classroom is “the field.” At UL Lafayette, we strive to provide field experiences for geography students through our GeoTours initiative. Trips are designed to explore real world venues that illustrate geographic ideas discussed in our different geography courses.
Our students have investigated the Old River Control Structure and the Morganza Spillway along the Mississippi River, they have traveled the Vermilion River and toured the living history museum along its banks, and they have watched sugarcane processed into sugar at a working Louisiana sugar mill.
Each semester provides a different opportunity to explore the world around us at UL Lafayette. All students enrolled in geography classes are welcome! If you would like to suggest a place for us to visit, please let us know at geography@louisiana.edu
