Martin Named Lifetime Fellow

Martin, professor of history and department head for History, Geography, and Philosophy, received the honor of being named a Lifetime Fellow of the Center for Louisiana Studies last week. Martin, who earned his BA (1994) and MA (1997) from our department, joins “an august group of foundational CLS scholars,” whose work has been integral to the Center’s success over the last half century.
Martin was inducted into the company of Lifetime Fellows alongside Dr. Ray Brassieur, retired professor of anthropology at UL Lafayette. They join the ranks of renowned Louisiana scholars Mathé Allain, Barry Jean Ancelet, Vaughan Baker, David Barry, Carl Brasseaux, and Marcia Gaudet.
