Martin Discusses French in Louisiana Before Friends Groups

On February 24, Dr. Michael S. Martin gave an invited lecture on The French In Louisiana before a capacity crowd at the Louisiana State Archives' Wade O. Martin Jr. Auditorium. The talk focused on how early French emigres to Louisiana developed a Creole identity in the early- and mid-eighteeenth century. The lecture was sponsored by the Friends of the Louisiana State Archives and the Friends of the Old State Capitol.
