Savoie Wins Big at LEAF Undergraduate Student Research Awards

Top Stories

Congratulations to senior History major Carson Savoie for earning not one, but two, awards at last week's UL Lafayette Advance Leaf Awards Ceremony. The awards recognize excellence in undergraduate research, creativity, and scholarship.

Savoie won a LEAF Award for undergraduate research methods in the Humanities (in both traditional and digital forms), then added to it with a Provost's Award for work that is interdisciplinary or that displays excellence across other award categories.

Savoie's well-deserved honors came as a result of work done on the Map to Black Studies project. Dr. Marissa Petrou and Dr. Theo Foster mentored and nominated Carson for the awards.
