Four History M.A. students to present their research Friday, March 14
Sat, 03/08/2025 - 2:50pmFour current students in the UL Lafayette Master's in History program will present their research Friday, March 14, at the Phi Alpha Theta Louisiana Regional Conference, held in conjunction with the Louisiana Historical Association's annual meeting. They students presenting are:
Taylor Townsend, presenting on “The Geographies and Boundaries of the House of Bondage: Past-Present Naturalization of Space, Race, and Gender through the Plantation as an Ongoing Process,” at the 9 am session.
Ashlyn Capello, presenting on “Popular Printing, Internal Othering, and Witch Making in Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century London” at a 10:30 am session.
Caroline Dugan, presenting on “Documenting Dr. Jean “Shewolf” Boudreaux in Lafayette, Louisiana” at a 10:30 am session.
Anna Dardeau, presenting on "Virtuous Women: Catholicism, Gender, and Early Modern England's Political Climate," at th 2:45 pm session.
UL Lafayette's Phi Alpha Theta chapter, Epsilon-Xi, is hosting the conference (even though it is in Baton Rouge). UL is further represented by Drs. Michael Martin and Rob Hermann, who are chairing sessions, and alumnus Rex Jones (ABD, LSU).
The PAT conference meets 9 am-4 pm, at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge, 4728 Constitution Avenue, Baton Rouge, La. 70808..
