HIST 451(G) - Applied Public History Seminar
Alternate subtitles will appear on student's transcript. Systematic examination of archival administration, museum management, historical editing, oral history, historic site management and preservation. Content varies. May be repeated for a total of 6 hours.

HIST 452(G) - Historical Resource Administration and Interpretation
Alternative subtitles will appear on student's transcript. Examines the role of historical methodology in interpreting history in public frameworks, including museums, historic preservation, archives, and communities. Content varies. May be repeated for credit.

HIST 461(G) - Applied Public History Internship
Professional on-site work experience tailored to student's career orientation. Students may be required to reside off-campus.

GEOG 440G - Applications in Geographic Information Systems
Practical application of geographic information science in multiple disciplines across the College of Liberal Arts and focused use of GIS within the student's chosen field of study.

HIST 510 - Introduction to Public History
Analyzes the application of historical methods and interpretation in various spheres of public history including museums, archives, corporations, preservation, digital media, historic sites, and community groups. Also investigates professional ethics, proposal writing, and advocacy.

HIST 540 - Museum History
Considers the history and role of museums in society and engages current discussions in the field of museology. Includes several site visits to local museums. Content varies. Alternate subtitles appear on students' transcripts.

HIST 541 - Exhibit Design and Development
Design and development of physical museum exhibits and the skills critical to exhibit planning and installation. Alternate subtitles appear on students' transcripts. May be repeated for a total of 6 hours. Content varies.

HIST 545 - Applied Public History Studies
Includes use of archives and museums, application of archaeology and geography, historical editing and publishing, family and community history, material culture, and site interpretation, preservation and management. HIST 565 - History Travel Studies
Abroad or domestic history travel studies. Alternative subtitles will appear on students' transcript. Content varies.

HIST 571 - Applied Public History Studies
Includes use of archives and museums, application of archeology and geography, historical editing and publishing, family and community history, material culture, site interpretation, and preservation and management. Content varies. Alternate subtitles will appear on students' transcripts. May be repeated for a total of 6 hours.

HIST 575 - Practicing Public History
Examines practices and techniques necessary to work in museums, national parks, archives, and other historical centers. Considers the skills and professional development necessary to successfully obtain a job in the field. Can include practical experience in the field. Content varies.

HIST 593 - Public History Capstone Research and Project
Capstone research and project for the Public History concentration. Permission of graduate coordinator and instructor required. Restricted to Public History-concentration graduate students who have completed at least 18 hours toward their degree.
