Students majoring in history must complete a minimum of 36 credits in history. Among this 36 credits, 18 credits (6 courses) are mandatory and include History 101, 102, 221, 222, 490. Additionally, a minimum of 18 credits must be completed in advanced (3/400 level) history courses with a minimum of 3 credits each in advanced U.S., European, and non-Western history courses. Of those upper-level hours, 9 hours are required to be at the 400-level (including 490). See our list of courses.
